Matt W. Moore
My name is Matt W. Moore. I am the founder of MWM Graphics, a design and illustration studio based in Portland, Maine. I work across disciplines, from colorful illustrations in my signature “Vectorfunk” style, to freeform watercolor paintings, and massive aerosol murals.
Before launching MWM Graphics I worked as an Art Director at The Via Group, and as a Web-Designer at Burton Snowboards. I live by the motto “Range is conducive to growth” and I feel my greatest work happens when I am required to step out of my comfort zone and look at things from a new angle. When I’m not working on client projects I am busy in my art studio playing and exploring.

MC Escher
MC Escher is my all-time favorite artist. The amount of work he created in his lifetime is unbelievable, and all without computers. His work is a great example of using geometry and optical illusions to create a rich, scrambled reality. He is the Michael Jordan of graphic art. Nobody else even comes close.
Doze Green
Doze was a pioneer of the NYC Hiphop and Grafffiti scene in the 80’s. His paintings are intense, abstracted portraits that melt into each other with bold, graphic elements and esoteric symbolism. Each piece is an exciting story by itself. When viewing each of his series as a whole, compelling narratives are revealed. Check out his most recent show at Jonathan Levine Gallery.

Rime
Rime (aka Jersey Joe) is a monster of the current graffiti game. Out of the thousands of writers all over the globe right now, he has made the biggest impact on style and scale. Everywhere I travel I see pieces that were inspired by his clean, funky plastic style of letterform construction. A prolific, inspired, living legend. Lynnette Astaire
Lynnette is a NYC based photographer with a true gift for narrative and themes. Photography is a discipline that is quite easy to participate in but very difficult to be great in. Lynnette’s ability to create dynamic, thought-provoking images puts her at the top of my list of contemporary photographers. Every one of her photos “is worth a thousand words.”
